Bacon Wrapped Chicken

One of the best ways to make your chicken as tender as it can possibly be, and still to make moist chicken recipes is the use of the slow cooker. In many cases, you can find a cheap slow cooker. It need not be state of the art, although we’ve come to really enjoy cooking with the three pot slow cooker because it makes it easy to get a great meal slow cooked as you’re working.


Chicken recipes in the slow cooker are always moist and always delicious. This one, designed to be minimal trouble, tends to be very tasty as well as slightly smoky in flavor. It’s literally outstanding cooked in this fashion, although you can take the recipe and use it in your oven if you’d prefer.

Chicken and Bacon

You Will Need:

One chicken, cut up
8 slices of bacon
1 cup KC Masterpiece (TM) barbecue sauce
One onion, sliced in wedges
two tsp lemon juice
freshly ground pepper
sea salt to taste.

To Make the Bacon Wrapped Chicken
Sprinkle chicken pieces with salt and pepper
wrap each piece of chicken firmly with a slice of bacon
place in layers in the slow cooker
cover with barbecue sauce.
Cook on low for about 8 hours, until meat thermometer registers 160 degrees.

OR
Bake in a 350 degree oven covered for about one hour, uncover for the last ten minutes.

If desired, you may omit the barbecue sauce and simply add about a teaspoon of lemon juice and one half cup of water to the bottom of the slow cooker.
