Every family has those traditions that they cook for Thanksgiving. From the Northern areas, where a traditional Thanksgiving may be game and the fruits of the recent harvest, to the Southern American states where Southern cooking recipes may be used, Thanksgiving means something different to everyone and in every portion of the United States, but one thing remains the same. Thanksgiving is a time of feasting, family and food.
It is a time of fun and family, with all of us spending the day together, watching football or spending the time playing games and having a good time. Every family save just a few will be together for the holidays and those who are not will wish they could be. Spending the time as a family is as important to us as what we eat in most cases, but the food does enhance the day.
Some things stay close to the same, as nearly every family enjoys a roast meal, sometimes turkey, sometimes ham or roast beef. We will also typically enjoy several types of vegetables, and desserts that may include fruits or vegetables which are all from the very recent harvest.
